Grants
In order to encourage the mobility of the participants at the 36th CIHA Congress Lyon 2024, calls for grants have been published regularly, and mobility programmes have been created thanks to the support of numerous patrons.
More than 156 mobility grants were awarded.
- The Getty Foundation delivered 36 mobility grants to researchers all over the world for whom the economic conditions represented an absolute constraint to participate. The Getty-CIHA International Program included a specific programme of events to help fellows integrate into the conference community.
- The Fondation TIQITAQ delivered 15 mobility grants to young researchers in France and 7 mobility grants to international young researchers. The grant holders received a specific programme of events to help them integrate into the conference community.
- The Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs supported the mobility of 13 researchers from Africa and the Indo-Pacific region.
- The Samuel H. Kress Foundation - History of Art delivered 10 mobility grants to PhD students or young scholars from American institutions.
- The Comité français d’histoire de l’art (CFHA) delivered 5 mobility grants to researchers from French institutions.
- The Deutsches Forum für Kunstgeschichte – DFK Paris delivered 10 mobility grants to researchers from German-speaking institutions.
- The Terra Foundation for American Art supported the venue of Jefferson Pinder, artist based in Chicago for the Closing Lecture.
- The Bruschettini Foundation for Islamic and Asian Art supported the mobility of 3 researchers whose studies focus on Islamic and Asian art.
- The Gerda Henkel Foundation supported the mobility of 10 researchers from Ukraine or working in countries with critical political and economic situations.
- The Wu Zuoren International Foundation of Fine Arts (WIFA) supported the mobility of 2 chairs.
- L’Instituto Italiano di Cultura Leone supported the mobility of 9 researchers from Italian institutions.
- The Institut français d’Indonésie supported the mobility of a session chair as part of an extended scholarship programme. As artist and independent researcher, the participation of Raslene in the 36th CIHA Congress Lyon 2024 was followed by a research residency in a French institution linked to her artistic work. VIDÉOFORMES, in Clermont-Ferrand, generously hosted her for a two-week residency.

- The Spanish Embassy in France supported the mobility of 3 researchers from Spanish.
- The Kajima Foundation supported the mobility of 1 Japanese chair.
- The PROA Foundation supported the mobility of 1 Argentinian speaker.
- TheFondation des Amis pour le Rayonnement des musées d'Orsay et de l'Orangerie (FARMO) supported the mobility of 6 PhD students in a French institution.
- The Fondation des Sciences du Patrimoine supported the mobility of 1 chair and of several students it accompanies.
